Glossary - Scientific method

The scientific method is the impartial, consistent, and systematic application of skepticism.  It generally consists of the following steps:

1. Observation (with an intentional emphasis on objectivity)
2. Data collection/gathering (research)
3. Hypothesis (and preliminary documentation)
4. Experimentation (often includes peer-review)
5. Analysis
6. Conclusion (and final documentation)
