Library - Theology - Scientology
Scientology (a word meaning "the study of knowing" as it is comprised of "scio" which means "knowing" in Latin, and "logos" which means "study of" in Greek) is a monotheistic religion that was founded in 1952 CE by Mr. Lafayette Ronald Hubbard, followed by the founding of the Church of Scientology in 1954 CE by a group of Scientologists who were dedicated to the philosophy and appreciated the research that Mr. Hubbard developed.
After serving as a Navy Lieutenant in World War II, Mr. Hubbard commenced research intended to gain a better understanding of the human mind after observing the detrimental effects violence has on many people. His research lead him to helping hundreds of people, including himself, and then publishing the book, "Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health," which was a tremendous success (but he still had questions).
